Legend of the Pink Flame

Maiden breath aka Pink flame
Everybody knows that villages which establish themselves near a dragon’s lair must make an offering of a beautiful maiden to the local dragon now and then lest they incur it’s wrath, this is a fact of life, like a kind of tax. (Though what the dragons do with the maidens in question the villagers don’t know and frankly don’t WANT to know)

Recently however villages have increasingly been trying to get out of paying their taxes! Some even going so far as to send ‘heroic’ Knights to slay the dragon (how rude!)

What these people don’t realise is dragons are able to manipulate their fire breath with magical results. For instance dragons who find themselves in the aforementioned situation can make use of pink flame (sometimes called ‘Maiden’s breath) to transform their would be slayers into something far more pleasing and acceptable as payment.

The villagers of course never question why the knights do not return, assuming they have met a ‘courageous’ end attempting to slay the dragon.

And they still don’t know why the dragon wants the girls in the first place!

So anyway, as you may know from my favourites I'm a fan of transformation artwork and I had this idea and thought it was too good to pass up ^^
